There’s a new member of the Purrfectly Imperfect crew 😺

So mummy and daddy did a thing the other day. They only went and adopted me a new little sisfur! Apawently the love that they have built up since Lil P became an Angel needs somewhere to go and mummy came across a little kitty that she thought would fit into our purrfectly imperfect furramily. She’s a little kitty who needs all the love we can give her to make up for what has happened to her, a little kitty who truly deserves to have a new loving furramily like ours.

Everyone meet Mona Lisa who will be joining us in a couple of weeks.

I’ll let mummy tell you all her heartbreaking story.

Mona Lisa is only about 2 years old and was rescued from the streets of Dubai having suffered horrific cruelty at the hands of some callous humans. She had both her right ear and tail cut off and she was then just left without any medical attention and must have been in extraordinary pain as she wandered the streets scared and lonely. Fortunately she was found by a compassionate rescuer, taken off the streets and given the medical care she needed and then taken into a wonderful foster home where she started the long road to recovery both physically and mentally. She has started to flourish and gain trust as she has been shown love, patience and compassion.

The cruelty she has suffered has left her with lasting effects, including a loss of sensation in her lower back, sensitivity to her tail area and paralysis of the right side of her face, initially she had to wear nappies but through perseverance and finding the right litter she has started to regain sensation in this area and is beginning to use the litter tray more successfully.

Mona Lisa is understandably a shy cat and takes time to trust both humans and other cats but despite everything she has been through is loving and affectionate once she has learnt to trust. With proper introductions she has got on with other cats although she will often retreat to the safety of her bed (a converted litter box) so there is still a long way to go to heal the internal scars life on the street has made.

One day I was browsing Facebook and came across her story which broke my heart. Having lost our little Precious 5 months ago we realised that we had a lot of excess love to give and maybe Mona Lisa would benefit from this love and we could help her heal both physically and emotionally. Having seen her little face and read her story we thought she would be the perfect addition to our purrfectly imperfect crew (two blindies and a tripaws). So with a little bit of trepidation we inquired about her, then we completed the adoption questionnaire, had a video chat with the rescue team and much to our delight they agreed that we could adopt this poor little soul.

She is already prepped and ready to fly and we are paying the requested adoption fee ourselves, however this fee only covers part of the costs of transporting her from Dubai and we would really like to try to cover the full cost of her relocation so the rescuers and relocation team can put these funds towards helping another rescue kitty reach their forever home.

It was Lil P’s adoptaversary on Wednesday, it was one year ago that she arrived in our furramily and changed all our lives for the better, for ever. She was a very special kitty who touched so many hearts with her strength, perseverance, determination, zest for life and super cute, quirky charm. I fink perhaps Lil P was looking down from above and shone her inner light on this little kitty knowing she needed the love that mummy and daddy had to give. Perhaps it was Lil P’s guiding paw that helped mummy find that one little cat which like her needed the special kind of help that mummy and daddy are able to give to us purrfectly imperfect cats.

We can’t wait to meet you Mona Lisa, I hope you’re going to enjoy being part of our furramily and joining the Purrfectly Imperfect Crew. What I can tell you for sure is that this home is filled with love, kindness, playtime, consideration and care. You will become part of something quite special and take it from me, something so good that you will ever even have dreamed a life like this could even exist.
