Well, as you all know my little sisfur Precious is poorly and we brought forward Catmas so she could celebrate in style but then she fought and fought to make it to the real Catmas and then onto New Year too. She’s one tough kitty cat and as mummy and daddy said she has such a strong will to live and be loved (and eat) that she inspires us all to live each day as it comes and make the most of it. We celebrate that Precious spirit each and every day and we’re still trying to make sure that she crams as much into every day as we possibly can so she can live a whole lifetime of thrills, experiences, fun and food but now that catmas is over we thought what’s next? What can we do to bring new excitement and joy into Lil P’s life? Well the three of us big sisfurs got together in secret in the bedroom – out of Precious earshot and we had a meeting and we decided that the next big thing in any cats life after Catmas and Adoptaversaries is having a birthday. We had heard mummy and daddy talking about how Precious is a valentines girl as the date they chose for her birthday on her passport is the 13th February, the day she arrived at the cattery in Cyprus after she was rescued from the streets. So we had a discussion and a vote and unanimously decided that as we celebrated Catmas early that we should also celebrate Lil P’s birthday a month early, just so she can really enjoy her special day.

So we planned and we plotted and came up with the most epic pawty ideas we could imagine, catnip, games, pawsecco, tunatinis, cake, fish buffet, treats (obviously), presents, boxes, crinkly paper, toys the whole works. It all sounded so fun and ta-da that was the pawty theme ‘Catnip and fun’, they kind of go paw in paw but as Precious has never tried catnip before this is the perfect pawty theme. Then, as the queen of our little clowder Millie and Angelin conspired against me and said it should be me that told mummy about our grand plans and break the news to her that we were going to have a very busy weekend and that daddy would need to get his credit card out and spend, spend, spend! So, knowing my mummy very well I waiting for just the right moment, she’s most relaxed when out on walkies with me so when we went out that night and as I was running around I picked my moment as mummy was laughing at me having zoomies and I meowed to her “mummy isnt this really fun?” “Oh yes, Jenny, I love it when you let go and get zoomies, it makes me laugh” “well, mummy” I meowed “if you think this is fun then what would be even more fun would be if we had an early birthday party for Precious.” “Oh Jenny that’s a wonderful idea” and so it was agreed.
I left mummy to do most of the organising whilst I sorted out the invitations and the guest list, our Lil P has made quite the impression on my social media accounts and so I’m sure they’ll all want to join in with us, after all who doesn’t love a birthday party.

After the invitations went out, over the next week there was a steady little stream of Precious mail delivered by the postman and mummy and daddy put these all to one side to open on the big day. Oh they smelled so good, come on mummy let’s open them now we all clamored but mummy wasn’t caving in, not even when we deployed our secret weapon the cutest little Angelin silent blindie staring techniques which usually wears at least daddy down but they were immune to our our most cute tactics deployed she said that we must be patient kitties and wait for party day.
Well, eventually party day arrived and wow what a day, we started off with games – Millie and I played hide and seek with treats in our paper pile. It’s such fun hunting out those tasty little morsels hiding away under the fun crinkly paper. Then we opened some of Precious presents and cards, of course when it’s a birthday party 🥳 all presents are for sharing so we all got to play with some fun new toys.

Then we played who can make mummy or daddy the most uncomfortable, Precious sat on daddy for ages and ages and wouldn’t let him move or flinch even the tiniest movement of a mucsle and definately not to go and pee. She is a very patient kitty and she held him down for many, many hours. Mummy and I even went out for walkies and when we came back they were still there with daddy muttering that his bladder was about to burst and he’d lost the feeling in one of his legs! For my effort I waited until mummy was giving Lil P a cuddle on the sofa and then I climbed up and sat on her bum, patiently waiting there, ignoring mummys please of “Jenny that’s really uncomfortable” or “you’re so awkward” or “I’m not a scratching post” Sorry mummy this is a fun game and my new party trick.

Then in the evening, and having had a second walkies in my party bandana we did a video call with Aunty M who was of course, much more interested in seeing us and finding out what we’d been up to than talking to mummy and daddy. ”Where’s my beautiful Millie” she would say and then “Whats Jenny up to” and “Oh look at Lil P all snuggled up” and “Angelins looking so fluffy today”.

Then…finally…it was time for the real party to start, mummy brought the birthday cake out. It wasn’t just any cake, not one that mummy made up of normal cat food but one that was extra special and made just for Precious, it even had her name on it and came with a little toy, a party hat and a catnip stick. Then mummy opened another present for Precious, her very own ‘It’s My Birthday’ bandana, well, that is very special, even I haven’t got a birthday bandana in my collection.

And according to Millie she looked super cute in it, the hat was a bit big and hats are tough for a kitty with no ears but that doesn’t stop us enjoying it as another fun toy to play with and mummy placed it on the window sill along with the birthday cards so we could also play the ‘see how many times you can knock it off and mummy puts it back up game’ – we’re all pretty good at that game!

Then after cake it was time for the buffet, mummy and daddy had bought all yummy types of fishy food for us to have, all things that Precious hasn’t had before and all a little bit stinky but who cares it’s a party, there was pilchards in tomato sauce, mackerel and sardines too plus mummy had a fish and chip dinner whilst daddy had chicken and chips so we were supposed to all have a share of that too but mummy saved a big chunk of her fish for us all but before she knew it Precious had wolfed the whole lot down and some of daddys chicken too! For once, and only coz it’s her birthday I’ll forgive Lil P for not sharing the fish and blame mummy for eating too much of her own dinner and not saving enough for me (I love fish) but just this once! Then Lil P washed it all down with one of her birthday churu’s and a bowl of milk

Then after all that and a full day of play and games and fun it was time to settle down in front of the fire and have a well deserved sleep.
Happy birthday Lil P we hope you enjoyed your special day and I’ll leave you with the video of the day which made us laugh the most from our kind furriend @alfiemoonbeam_alfiecatbags
