A day I’ll never forget

Well I really don’t know where to start, it’s been such a busy, crazy time but I just can’t wait to tell you that…can you believe it I MET SANTA PAWS 🎅 🐾! I didn’t even know it was happening, mummy kept it as a big surprise, I thought I was just going out for a walkies but then my backpack came out and I was quite excited as I haven’t been out in it for a while, then mummy and I got in the car and off we went. When we stopped I recognised where we were, we were back at the pub, it took me a little while to remember all the odd noises that go on in there but I soon climbed up on mummy’s shoulder for a better vantage point and settled down. Then I heard a deep low voice “ho! ho! ho! Meow! meow! meow!” My ears pricked up and then I heard mummy saying “one ticket for Santa Paws please” my heart started racing and my paws started to sweat a little and then mummy was on the move. “Come on Jen, it’s time to go and see the big man himself”

Ready and waiting

At first I was a little nervous, so I sat on mummy’s lap next to Santa whilst I sniffed him out, he smelt a bit odd but as he started to stroke me he felt all soft and fluffy, and he just had a calming way about him. He and mummy were chatting away and then as I relaxed I started to explore a bit and found myself wandering onto Santa’s lap.

Oh! It was so exciting, he even spoke to me in meow’s, he asked me if I had been a good girl this year and what I wanted for Catmas, I said I’d been as good as I possibly could and whispered quietly to him (so no one else could hear) what I wanted for Catmas. – I can’t tell you coz it’s a secret just between me and Santa, if I told you I’d probably end up on the naughty list! Santa and mummy and I hung out for a while just chatting and stroking and meowing away, it was such fun and he’s just so nice.

I had been so good and brave Santa even gave me a little goody bag to take home with me! Then all too soon mummy said it was time to go as there were other pets lined up to see him too but as I was the only kitty I got to meet him first, so we said our final goodbyes and I had a final stroke and then we wandered back off to the bar to relax a bit.

I was so excited I climbed back up mummy and sat on her shoulder all proud of myself, then the chaos started…the dogs started to arrive so I hopped into my backpack that mummy had put up on a chair next to her and chilled out in there whilst many, many very excited (and noisy) dogs came to see Santa Paws too. Every so often mummy reached into the backpack to give me a reassuring stroke or said “you ok in there Jen” and I just stayed in there quite happy. Every so often, a slightly unfamiliar hand would pop in to give me a stroke but always accompanied by mummy’s voice saying something like it’s ok to stroke her if you want so I knew they were good people. Some were surprised to see a kitty (let alone a blind one) in a pub with a whole heap of doggies but for us that’s all part of our lives as an adventure cat. I even met my furriend Benson who I meet out on walkies in the woods sometimes.

Soon though mummy said it it was time to go as the really excitable boundy dogs were starting to come in and so off we went home. Normally after I’ve been out in my backpack I get home and have a little snack and then I sleep the night away but that night I was just so excited, I was running on my wheel, wanting to play and I just couldn’t relax and go to sleep – I MET SANTA!

It was such a fun occasion and meowmy said I helped raise money for some good causes – Guide dogs and Oak Tree Animal Rescue – and yes, mummy found it funny that a blind cat was helping Guide dogs 😹. I even made two local newspapers and was called a ‘local celebrity’!

We’ve also had a whole load of boxes and cards arrive from all out furriends around the world who are celebrating Precious first Catmas with us, we’re so lucky to have so many wonderful caring friends to make this time extra special. Lil P even got a new little hooman fan club who sent her a little card and video message. It made mummy and daddy’s eyes all teary.

Love from little hoomans Liam and Sophie

We all feel so spoilt and I hope you all have as wonderful Catmas as we have and that you have a meowvellous New Year too. Thank you for following my stories, I hope you have enjoyed our adventures and I’m sure they’ll be many more to come.

MERRY CATMAS AND HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYPAWDY 🥳
