And Merry Catmas to one and all 🎄 🎅
I’m sorry I haven’t written for some time but we’ve just been so busy with taking care of Lil Sweet P and making the time she has left the most special, love filled time she could ever imagine. Every day is Catmas day in our house and she gets to try a new treat or food or get another present or card to open, we love getting mail and the litttle hoomans overseas keep a steady supply of cards and letter coming, along with our furriends from all around the world. Were truly touched by the kindness, love and generosity that has been shared with us. Each and every present or card we get is just oozing with love and we treasure each and every one and just for a little while Lil P gets to forget about being poorly. I really hope you have had the chance to see some of the love that we’ve been sent through my Facebook and Instagram posts and stories it’s been truly overwhelming.
Anyway today is Precious 6 month adoptaversary and we’ve been celebrating all weekend, starting off with fulfilling one of her secret wishes of seeing snow for the first time. Santa Paws must have been watching in on Lil P’s dreams as we all woke up to our first little flurry of snow this weekend, on the first morning of her big adoptaversary pawty. ‘How can a blind cat tell it’s snowed? I hear you ask’ well, other than listening to Millie running around shouting about it, I can hear the snow falling, it makes a special almost sparkly noise as it flutters down and rests on the ground, it’s much lighter than rain or anything else that falls from the sky which is why it sounds so unique. I can smell it too, it doesn’t smell like rain but it smells wet similar to rain but kinda fizzy, tingly on the senses in my nose, it’s fresh and cold but slightly damp. Then once we’re allowed outside to play in it it feels extra tingly on the paws, slightly crispy as you walk and each pawstep goes crinkle, crackle like well worn tissue paper.

Mummy and daddy thought Precious might want to see the snow and maybe have a little play in it so daddy scooped Lil P up in his arms and we all went out to the cons club (mummy edit – the cons club is our conservatory) and opened the door to the catio, whilst we all piled out to make snow cat 🐾 mummy, daddy and Lil P stayed just inside, daddy knelt down to see if Lil P wanted to try the snow but she wasn’t having any of that and scampered back to the warmth of the house and warmed up under the Catmas tree. It might be just as well meowed Millie as Lil P is completely snow coloured and might have easily got lost in the snow as she would have blended right in! It’s far too cold for a little sun worshipping Cyprus kitty but it was fun to have had this as part of our Catmas celebrations.

Just coz it’s freezing cold and snow covered doesn’t mean I don’t want to go out for walkies, perhaps a little shorter than normal but getting tingly paws doesn’t matter to me. As I explore outside with mummy the smell of the other animals seems to float on the snow, it doesn’t seem to stick to the ground like it normally does but flutters on top of the snow much like a little aura. The sounds of the animals rustling about in the leaves is different too, almost echoey and muffled at the same time, it’s quite intriguing for a little blind kitty out for walkies.

As part of our Catmas celebrations mummy cooked a whole Catmas dinner and we had the whole furramily round to celebrate with us, mummy put the Catmas tree up weeks and weeks before normal. She cooked a full on three course dinner – which of course we all shared, prawn cocktail and smoked mackerel pate for starters, turkey and all the trimmings for mains and then catmas pudding and cheese and biscuits for afters.
Everypawdy was stuffed but it didn’t stop there we all then got to open loads and loads of presents that the family brought for us. Mummy drank fizzy, bubbles and we pawtied and played and snacked well into the evening when we all fell into a catmas dinner food coma nap time. Lil P really, really loved turkey and a bowl that was meant for the four of us to share she pigged all on her own! Since then as I said there’s been something every single day for Lil P (and us) to try.
Sometime we get jealous of all the attention Lil P is getting, all the lap cuddles, breakfast, lunch and dinner in bed, a daily lick-e-lik and one on one playtime. Sometimes I get really up tight about not getting as much attention as normal but when mummy and daddy explained what they’re trying to do I kinda understood. They’re trying to fulfill the promise they made to Lil P, that she would have a furrever home here but coz she’s poorly they need to cram all the experiences that we have had over the years we’ve been part of the furramily into whatever time is left. They’re showing Lil P as much of life in a furrever home as they can, giving her as many things to try as they can think of and as many toys to play with that they can find. Mummy and daddy always share everything with us, a little bit of breakfast or dinner and over the years we’ve tried so many different things so I can see what they’re doing for Lil P – cramming as much life into every day so she doesn’t miss out on anything, making fun and happy memories, driving out those memories of a hard life on the street and filling her head and heart with love and happiness.
She’s tried everything mummy and daddy could think of, cat milk, turkey, ragu, chicken soup, tattie pot (Cumbrian beef stew), clotted cream and strawberry jam, salmon, turkey dinner, ham, chicken, mushy peas, fish, prawn toast, you name it if mummy and daddy have eaten it she’s tried it
The best way to tell you what we’ve been doing to celebrate each and every day with Lil Sweet P is what meowmy calls a Precious photo shoot or a ‘meowntage’ so here it is, we hope you enjoy it.
We also celebrated this special day with a home made gotcha day cake, gourmet gold tuna pate cake topped with a chicken churu glaze, tuna sprinkles and stick treat ‘candles’ all served on mummy’s best China. Lil P was sooo excited she didn’t quite know where to start but she got stuck in once mummy removed the candles which were getting in the way (mummy didn’t want them to hurt Lil P’s nose) but don’t worry they didn’t go to waste, Millie, Me and Angelin scoffed the candles 😺 leaving the whole cake for Precious to enjoy.

Happy adoptaversary Lil Sis we weren’t sure you’d make this milestone but yet again you have surprised us all with your courage and determination and here we are celebrating YOU. Life isn’t easy as a street kitty, we all know that but you seem to have had more than your fair share of misfortune and bad luck but you didn’t let that stop you, you’re a true little fighter and it’s that spirit that got you to your furrever home here with us. You are and always will be part of the ‘Purrfectly Imperfect’ crew and that’s what we’re celebrating today.

This is absolutely spectacular – I love Lil P and all the girls – you have the best furamily. Lil P loves to explore and I sure love how she likes her food – she is a good eater – You have done amazing work with these kitlets – keep it up – always brings joy to my heart to read stories about the “kits” – Happy Adoptoversary!!!!
